Water regulator Ofwat has put out a consultation paper, Linking service levels to prices, as a prelude to revising water pricing structures. Ofwat wants customers to tell it whether environmental performance and sewer flooding should be taken into account in assessing water companies' investment needs. It also wants to know whether the balance between charges and service is appropriate, and whether it should be reviewing prices annually rather than once every five years.
