On 12 November 1999 Andrea Curry was killed along with 23 aid workers aboard a World Food Programme flight to Kosovo. Originally from Armagh in Northern Ireland, she read civil engineering at Belfast's Queen's University. Andrea graduated in 1998 and went on to do an MSc in Engineering for Development at the University of Southampton. She had just completed her dissertation when she took up her first post with GOAL, the Irish Aid Agency.
