Numbers game

Civil engineering undergraduates must achieve at least 60% by the end of their second year at university if they want to work for an MEng degree.

Those falling short of the 60% mark can study only for a BEng degree. But universities say BEng courses are being snapped up by overseas students looking to get a UK degree as fast as possible and by students hoping to go into postgraduate research.
