Quite a storm seems to have been raised over the issue of being 'too old to work' in recent weeks. My employer is pulling people in as fast as we can to meet the growing volume of our business in the wider railway industry and we certainly value the experience that an 'older' candidate can bring. Indeed, I was headhunted via an old contact a couple of years ago at the tender age of 53!
