Northumbrian Water invites bidders for £135M sewerage framework

Northumbrian Water has invited bidders for a sewerage repairs and maintenance framework, which could be worth up to £135M.

The scope of work includes: repairs and maintenance, provision of 365/24/7 emergency call out cover, sewer cleansing, CCTV services, blockage clearance, root cutting, mapping, and associated services.

The frameworks will run across the whole of Northumbrian Water’s 30,000km sewerage network.

The utility expects to pick two firms to deliver the works. The initial contract period will be for three years, and could be renewed twice, each time by a further three years. The framework will start in April 2015.

The work is valued at between £12M and £15M a year.

The deadline for expressions of interest is 7 August 2014.
