Norris to head NCE transport initiative

STEVE NORRIS, former transport minister and Tory London mayor candidate, has become president of NCE 's integrated transport initiative, Interchange.

Interchange, a radical mix of a conference, exhibition and awards ceremony, will take place at the new Excel venue in London's Docklands between 3 and 5 April 2001. It will bring together for the first time major players from the transport and construction industries, as well central and local government, to plan the development and implementation of integrated transport policy.

Norris, who has recently joined the board of London Transport successor body Transport for London, said: 'I welcome the opportunity to act as champion for this all-embracing movement which will affect fundamental changes in UK transport policy'.
