No news on suspended Environment Agency tender

The Environment Agency this week admitted it would be unable to award its £2.5bn design construction framework contract for another two to three months.

The Agency has yet to reveal how and when its water and environment management framework will be reopened for bidding.

Last week NCE revealed that procurement of the framework had been suspended a few weeks before the contract was due to be awarded after the Agency took legal advice (News last week).

An independent review warned that the Agency’s new framework could be subject to challenge.

Senior Environment Agency engineers are understood to have been in meetings all last week to determine how and when it will be reissuing tender documents for the framework.
