Arup Geotechnics has won a 27 month contract to identify the best way of inspecting the condition of the Highways Agency earthworks asset.

HBG construction has won a £3.2M contract to construct a new three storey office complex for Kilmartin Properties at Powderhall, Edinburgh, and a £2M contract to build an office block next to Edinburgh's Haymarket station.

WS Atkins has teamed up with the Royal Bank of Scotland to provide a new service which it is claimed will simplify the procurement process for a range of industry sectors.

Total Solutions for Industry (TS4I) will offer a one-stop service that integrates design, construction, finance and operation activities into a single contract.

WS Atkins has reported operating profits for last year of £29.4M, a 24% rise over the previous year.

Profits at contractor Jarvis are up 4% to £54.8m.

Preliminary results for 19992000 also showed turnover up 8% to £669.1M compared with £617.7 for 1999.
