The Department of Transport, Local Government and the Regions said this week that bus journeys in England increased 1% from 3.36M in 1999/2000 to 3.71M in 2000/01. Patronage in London grew by 4%.

The Shanghai Tunnel Engineering and Rail Transit Design & Research Institute consortium, which includes Hyder Consulting, has won the Shanghai-Chong Ming tunnel design competition.
