The Environment Agency's Anglian region is working with Lincolnshire County Council to excavate an Iron Age road, found while the Agency was strengthening the banks of the River Witham. To date two carved canoes have been unearthed, along with a money bar, chisel and an axe head.

Business lobby group the CBI is expecting prime minister Tony Blair and Romanian prime minister Adrian Nastase to attend its 25th national conference on 4-6 November, at the ICC in Birmingham.

Scott Wilson and TJ O'Connor will be construction supervisors for a new two tier linkspan at No 26 Berth at Dublin Port, awarded by the Dublin Port Company. The linkspan will be the largest roll-on/roll-off bridge in Ireland when complete.
