John Laing expects to lose £30M in the proposed sale of its contracting arm to contractor O'Rourke, the firm told the City this week. Other losses are expected to be £40M worse than predicted.

Everton Football Club this week moved closer to building a £155M stadium at Liverpool's Kings Dock as part of a £300M development. Houston Securities Ltd, on behalf of Everton FC, was the preferred development partner of government regeneration company Liverpool Vision. The project has six months to satisfy remaining transportation and financial requirements.
