Construction deaths fell by 25% last year. Fatalities fell to 79 in 2000/01 compared with 105 the previous year, according to figures released by the Health & Safety Executive. Major reported injuries were also down 12%, raising concerns that accidents are reported less with health and safety records seen as increasingly precious.
