Henry Boot has secured top position in the construction sector of the fourth regional Index of Environmental Engagement 2002 for Yorkshire and Humberside. The position recognises advances Henry Boot has made to reduce the impact of its construction activities on the environment.

Weeks Group this week announced pre tax profits of £1.35M, an increase of 19.7% on last year. Continued profit growth has been put down to alliancing and collaborative working during what has been a transition period for the company as the business and board have been restructured.

Deputy social justice minister Hugh Henry this week pledged to crack down on quarry operators that fail to ensure old mineral sites are being brought up to modern working standards. Details will be put before Parliament shortly.
