Consultant Haswell's operations director David Gutteridge, Sandberg joint managing partner Neil Sandberg and Bullen chairman Desmond Scott have been elected to the Association of Consulting Engineers council for three years.

English Partnerships is introducing new development standards to reduce carbon emissions by up to 30%. They will apply to property built on its land in Peterborough. The standards have been devised by the building research body BRE and will be adopted for all new English Partnerships retail, office and industrial buildings.

Contractor Birse has won a £2.4M contract from Conwy Council to build access roads to a new industrial estate at Tir Llwyd in Rhyl.
