Bristol City Football Club has called in consultant High-Point Rendel to assess whether its Ashton Gate stadium will withstand stresses imposed by a planned pop concert next Friday. Structural checking of stadia to be used for concerts is now a Football Association requirement.

A study by consultant FaberMaunsell has revealed that 44% of women and 19% of men feel unsafe waiting at a bus stop at night.
