Contractor Jarvis last week won an £83M PFI contract with Rhondda Cynon Taff County Borough Council. The 25 year deal will include building two Welsh language schools in South Wales.

A £70M accommodation contract for the Defence Estates at Catterick Garrison in North Yorkshire was last week put out to tender to shortlisted bidders Amec, Balfour Beatty, Laing and Skanska.

Amec has formed a joint venture with Malaysian plant services company Dialog. The new company, to be called Dialog-Amec, aims to capitalise on integrated industrial services contracts in Malaysia.
