Wimbledon's All England Club this week announced plans for a new state of the art 5,000 seater stadium at Court Two.

The stadium will be built below current ground level to limit any impact on local residents.

One person was killed and hundreds injured as a freight train rear-ended a stationary double-decker commuter train in California shortly after the passenger train came to a halt.

The freight train is thought to have been travelling quite slowly, but the reason for both trains sharing the same tracks was unknown as NCE went to press.

Hercule Poirot has teamed up with construction materials supplier, Burdens and British Waterways to launch the first Walk on Water event. The national sponsored walk across inland waterways will take place on 13-14 July, and is backed by actor David Suchet.
