The Strategic Rail Authority has announced its latest thinking on plans for fast local train services to run on the new Channel Tunnel Rail Link. It plans to run four trains per hour to and from London and Ebbsfleet, and the same between London and Ashford, with two per hour serving Sittingbourne, Ramsgate and Folkestone. Local councils had feared the SRA might back only limited services covering part of the route.
