Network Rail took further steps towards its efficiency savings target of £1.3bn last week when it announced plans to cut between 600 and 700 senior and middle management jobs. The move is part of a previously announced programme to cut 2,000 jobs over three years and will deliver savings of £25M to £30M a year. No engineers are involved the company said.
