Bank station on the London Underground is to be the target of a simulated terrorist attack to test the response of the public and the emergency services. The attack, to take place later this month, will use dozens of volunteers to act as 'victims'. Home secretary David Blunkett said he wanted to assess the country's response to the 'most demanding emergencies', including the 'treatment of infectious diseases, mass evacuation and treatment of mass casualties.'
