Construction of Terminal 5, Wembley stadium and the White City property development in London is under threat because women are failing to join the construction industry, research by the Learning & Skills Council claimed this week. Only 1% of women are taking up careers in manual trades while London needs over 40,000 new workers to deliver predicted work over the next two years.

lBabcock International has made a £105.7M bid to take over Peterhouse Group.

Peterhouse, which owns First Group, lost its maintenance contracts with Network Rail last year.
