Sir Robert McAlpine this week signed a £550M design and build contract to redevelop Colchester Garrison. The deal forms part of a 35 year, £2bn PFI deal, awarded to the RMPA consortium whose other members are Sodexho, Atkins and HSBC Infrastructure.

The Strategic Rail Authority this week announced a £22M grants scheme to promote development of intermodal rail freight schemes. The Company Neutral Revenue Support scheme will focus on rail-sea connections.

Jarvis Accommodation Services chief executive, Andrew Sutton has this week resigned his position on the company's board. Commercial director Rob Johnson will take on Sutton's role.
