The European Investment Bank this week earmarked $220M for the expansion of Barcelona Port. The project includes the construction of a new container terminal on reclaimed land, which will double the port's capacity.
Engineering works will involve several kilometres of breakwater construction with extensive coastal protection and environmental works.
