Simplex Foundations finished installing a 300m long contiguous piled retaining wall for a three level underground car park under the central atrium of the Royal Mills mixed use development in Ancoats, Manchester just before Christmas. ING Real Estate's project, being built by main contractor Carillion, joins four Grade II listed mill buildings dating from the 19th and early 20th centuries. Simplex' £370,000 contract involved installing 400, 600mm diameter CFA piles up to 21.5m deep.
