News: Sustainable development

The world's first commercial scale marine current turbine, which is to be installed off the English coastline next summer, is discussed this month in a special issue of the ICE Civil Engineering journal Sustainable development: making it happen. Marine turbines are expected to play a vital role in reducing the world's dependence on fossil fuels.

Other contributors to the issue include construction minister Nick Raynsford. Further information from Simon Fullalove (020) 7665 2448.
