News: Selby rail crash

A working group has been set up in the wake of the Selby rail crash to look at the risk posed to rail from road vehicles. Ten people died when a vehicle and trailer veered off the M62 at Selby and derailed a passenger train, which then collided with a freight train. The working group will be briefed by the Health & Safety Commission and is to hold its first meeting on 23 May.

Anyone wishing to contribute should write to Alan Cooksey, HSE, Rose Court, 2 Southwark Bridge London SE1 9HS.
