The future of construction health and safety is to be debated at an open meeting of the ICE Health & Safety Board at the ICE on 29 April. The meeting will be looking at what can be done to address construction's poor safety record through amendments to current regulations and new initiatives. The meeting will also seek opinion on what role the ICE should play in forming health and safety policy. The meeting is open to all and starts at 4pm. An education and training project being run across a range of professions and aimed at promoting sustainable development is to be showcased at the ICE on 1 May.

Professional Practice for Sustainable Development (PP4SD) is being launched as continuing professional development programme. The government has put up a grant to fund the programme over the next three years. The oneday seminar is an opportunity for engineers and professional associations to find out more and get involved.
