News: Railtrack

Railtrack has appointed contractor Jarvis as preferred bidder for the north west maintenance contract. Worth £200M over five years, the contract covers 760km of track, 1,499 switches and crossings, 988 signals and 1,465 bridges. It is to be awarded before the end of this year, for an April 2001 start.
