News: Millennium Wheel

London's Millennium Wheel will close for three weeks on Monday to allow planned maintenance to be carried out.

Work will range from changing oil, grease and air conditioning filters to inspecting and checking the integrity of the structure. A new canopy will also be installed on the river pier during the closure and changes made to the landscaping around the wheel to aid maintenance. The wheel is expected to reopen on 9 February in time for Valentine's Day. In summer up to 17,000 people a day used the ride.
