News: Marine Conservation Society

Two hundred and seventy five beaches around Britain conform to the water quality standards set out by the Marine Conservation Society, environment minister Michael Meacher said last week. He announced that 3,800 'unsatisfactory' storm outflow pipes will be improved by March 2005 as part of a programme of upgrades to dirty water treatment systems.
