News: DETR

The Department of Environment Transport and the Regions is inviting comment on plans to bring into force sections of the New Roads and Streetworks Act 1991 (NRSWA). The relevant sections, which have not yet been enacted in law, require companies carrying out roadworks to keep records of all 'apparatus' laid in the street. A code of practice would accompany any such legislation, which aims to reduce the risks to workers and reduce disruption to customers and street users.
