Climate change means severe flooding will become five to ten times more frequent over the next century, the Environment Agency warned this week. The Agency has issued new flood warning codes in a bid to communicate risk more effectively to those in danger. These are 'flood watch', where flooding is possible; 'flood warning', where flooding is expected; 'severe flood warning', where there is imminent danger to life and property; and 'all clear'.
