News: Chartered Institute of Building

The Chartered Institute of Building has attacked the withdrawal of accreditation of building courses from 15 universities by the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors after a review of teaching standards. CIOB president Professor John Bale said that the RICS move restricted access to construction professions, which should instead be widened. The RICS said it wanted to raise entry standards to attract higher calibre candidates and make the profession more attractive.
