New website gets warm welcome

THE SOUTHERN Association became the latest branch to go online successfully last month.

It is following in the footsteps of the North West, Northern, South Wales, Chilterns, South West and the Graduates and Students of the East Midlands branch.

Southern's website has received much praise in its short existence. Local associations officer Joanna Holland said:

'I'm very very impressed. I think this website is fantastic.'

Other associations have also taken note. Paul Firth, Chilterns local association development officer, said:

'What a brilliant use of the site to promote the local association - good graphics and excellent content.'

Southern association secretary Jackie Heath thoroughly recommends other branches to create their own websites. 'People are getting more and more access to computers so it is the best way of publicising extra meetings at short notice. It's important that the Institution keeps up with technology and uses this medium for publicity.'
