New training venues to be set up across the UK

Plans for 2012 training camps across the UK were unveiled yesterday by the London Organising Committee for the Olympic Games (LOCOG).
LOCOG Nations and Regions Group chairman said: 'We will use Pre-Games Training Camps to engage the whole country and spread the benefits of the Olympic and Paralympic Games throughout the UK. 'This provides a fantastic opportunity for nations and regions of the UK to host an international team of athletes, bringing not only economic benefits, but also helping to inspire communities to support the Games.' National Olympic Committees (NOC) and National Paralympic Committees (NPC) will each receive a copy of London 2012's Guide to UK sporting facilities to assist them in selecting venues will be issued in summer of 2008, after the Beijing Games.UK sporting facilities will be able to assess their suitability for hosting Pre-Games Training Camps by reviewing the requirements that a visiting nation is likely to have on the London 2012 website at: Related links:Today's top stories
