New string to modelling bow

SOFTWARE GIANT Infrasoft's new project collaboration package Arenium is set apart from the competition, the firm claims, by three dimensional string modelling and real time data exchange.

Arenium is built around a 3D digital model. This can be used to display plans, elevations, sections and renderings, and to provide 'flythrough' sequences. As a naked string diagram, it can also provide technical, specification and supplier details.

Housed on a central server, the model can be accessed by authorised members of a project team in almost any location - operating over low bandwidth networks, it is available via internet, intranet and hand-held devices. The model is 'checked out', preventing simultaneous changes being made, and so avoiding potential conflicts. Once changes are complete, the model is checked back in and a notice of the alterations made are relayed on to all other parties.

Infrasoft claims that efficiencies offered by Arenium can cut up to 20% off project design times.

The package is being trialled by Dutch consulting engineer Arcadis on design and construction of the Eefde bypass in the Netherlands.
