New site offers civils work

News :

Engineering students will from next week have a new source of jobs, placements and sponsorship in the construction industry, with the launch of the Construction Industry Training Board's online cash 'honeypot', designajob. co. uk.

An initial 20 launch partners, featuring some of the biggest employers in the construction industry, is expected to build up to 250 firms pooling their job and opportunities within 12 months.

The site has been developed following a meeting of industry heads, government figures and the institutions, convened in January to discuss ways of tackling the skills shortage (NCE 1 February).

The site will be launched on Tuesday by industry and energy minister Brian Wilson, but will be up and running for the start of National Construction Week.
