New membership director named

The ICE has appointed Seán Harris as its new membership director, replacing David Lloyd Roach who left the Institution in December 2014.

Harris has been an engineer for over 30 years and brings leadership, planning and financial experience to the role.

He has served in the Royal Engineers and was responsible for overseeing the Institution of Royal Engineers as it gained and implemented an Engineering Council licence to qualify members as EngTech, IEng and CEng. He is currently on secondment to the UK Foreign and Commonwealth Office, as UK defence advisor and commander of British Forces in Nepal.

Harris will focus on placing ICE members at the heart of the Institution’s thinking.

He will start on 3 August, reporting to director general Nick Baveystock.
