New ICE journal to focus on sustainability

Institution news

PAPERS ARE being sought for the a new journal Engineering Sustainability to be launched by the ICE in March 2003 and published four times a year as part of the Proceedings of the Institution of Civil Engineers.

The journal will aim to help the profession and the wider community to deliver more sustainable solutions for the benefit of future generations.

It plans to do this by publishing authoritative, stimulating papers and briefing notes of use to practitioners, researchers and students.

Papers should be between 2,000 and 4,000 words in length and, where appropriate, illustrated with around six to 10 photographs and/or simple line drawings.

Papers published in Engineering Sustainability are eligible for awards including the prestigious Telford and George Stephenson Medals.

All papers will be required to conform to the normal guidelines for publication by the ICE, and will be subject to the usual review and assessment procedures.
