New development planned for Seychelles

A new development is planned for a small island in the Seychelles following the relaxation of property laws for foreigners.

In a move to expand the economy beyond tourism and tuna fishing, the Seychelles Government opened up property ownership to foreigners about three years ago and the spa company Per Aquum will be one of the first to take advantage of this new opportunity on a tiny private island known as Félicité.

The development, known as Zil Pasyon (Creole for "island of passion") includes restaurants, leisure facilities and 28 villas that will be placed amongst the island’s rich vegetation and granite outcrops.

Glanville Consultants have been appointed structural designers

Glanville’s Managing Director, Nigel Porter said "We have worked on a similar project in Grenada, so we are comfortable with the extremely high standard of work that is necessary on a project of this nature. The building design is extremely imaginative and one of our key responsibilities will be to ensure that the structural design is in keeping with the demanding architectural concept and location."
