New Capita Symonds forensic division

Consultant Capita Symonds has launched a new Forensics Services division to provide technical advice to solicitors and insurance companies .
The division will be led by engineer John Wasilewski, and will brief and coach 'experts' through legal and insurance processes, including providing expert testimony in court.Wasilewski said the division will make sure experts, 'are able to fully understand their role, how to handle sometimes tough questioning in a court environment, and how to comprehend complex legal arguments.'We even have a mentor system to help our experts write reports that are both compliant with court procedures and accessible to the non-technical reader,' he added.The team specialises in civil cases where loss or damage has occurred, or is alleged, and recovery is sought from insurers or third parties.Construction-related disputes over unfinished work, unsafe work, delayed work would be typical. Criminal cases where death or injury result from mismanagement or neglect will also come under the division's brief.
