New Asian business acquisition for Hyder Consulting

Hyder Consulting's East Asia subsidiary has acquired master planning and landscape architecture consultancy, ACLA, which operates primarily in China and Hong Kong, with small offices in Singapore, Dubai and India.
The initial acquisition price of £3.25 million will be met through a combination of cash and Hyder Consulting PLC shares. A further payment of up to £2.1 million is payable in cash over three years dependent on future business performance. ACLA has an order book of more than £13 million and a team of around 50 staff will transfer. Their projects include a range of property development and infrastructure projects spread across China and the Middle East.Turnover for the year to 31 December 2005 amounted to approximately £2.0 million, with profits before interest and tax of £0.7 million. The acquisition provides Hyder with new complementary skills and extends its access for advisory services into the growing Chinese market. Related links:Today's top stories
