New £5M quay opens at Teignmouth port

Port operator ABP has expanded its cargo-handling operation at Teignmouth thanks to the opening of the £5M Western Quays development
The Western Quays development was given the go-ahead by then transport secretary Alistair Darling in September 2004. Work was completed in July this yearEngineering work required the straightening of the quay wall, deepening of the berths and the construction of a 3,000 square metre transit shed.
