New £11M Leeds Bradford airport terminal extension opens

Foreign secretary William Hague opened a new £11M airport terminal development at Leeds Bradford airport on Friday, increasing the size of the departure lounge by 65%.

Construction on the extension began last December, and has created an extra 2,500m² of space over two floors.

Boarding gate zones have been extended and a covered walkway has been constructed from the terminal to a number of aircraft stands for all weather cover.

The private-equity owners of the airport, Bridgepoint, funded the new development.
