Neil by mouth

I should like to correct the factual inaccuracies in your report on the recent East of Scotland ICE dinner in Edinburgh (News last week).

There was no 'attack' let alone a 'forceful attack' on any contractor. There was a slip of the tongue when I wrongly referred to Balfour Beatty in connection with the Parliament building, for which I apologised during my speech.

Your use of words like 'mediation' are absurd in the context of what actually happened - as opposed to the spin you have been fed!
