NCE communications competition

ICE News

Belfast will host the final of the NCE Communications Competition to kick off this year's ICE annual conference.

Delegates are encouraged to attend and participate on Wednesday 18 June ahead of the conference proper. A drinks reception from 6pm will start proceedings.

Effective communication and public involvement can make the difference between the right project being built quickly and the project not happening at all.

Improving communication skills is the goal of the NCE Communications Competition, and sees teams prepare a presentation supporting a fictional scenario, such as a road scheme or town centre redevelopment, and deliver it to a mock public meeting.

Run by the Association of Municipal Engineers, it is recognised as an excellent training opportunity, with finalists able to claim up to five days CPD alongside a share of £1,000 in prize money.
