National Rail Awards

Carillon picked up the prestigious Civil Engineering Achievement of the Year at the National Rail Awards last week. It won for its innovative remodelling of the Nuneaton junction between the London-Glasgow and Leicester-Birmingham routes as part of the west coast route modernisation programme. The three year project included construction of new island platforms and a flyover in preparation for Virgin's new Pendolino tilting train. A Special Award for Engineering Excellence was also made on the night to the Channel Tunnel Rail Link London tunnels team for its work on section 2 of the project.
