National Grid Transco seeks additional funding

National Grid Electricity Transmission (NGET) has asked Ofgem, the gas and electricity regulator, to grant a further £35.77M to cover additional cost incurred running the grid over the past financial year.
NGET have told Ofgem that transmission constraints within Scotland and between Scotland and England have cost the company an extra £30.18 and license modification have cost an additional £5.59M. Ofgem now has three months to decide if NGET's proposal for an income adjusting event is warranted. The Authority will launch a public consultation process in early August 2006 to help it reach a decision. A final decision should be published in late September 2006.Related links:Today's top stories
