Morrison Construction founder and life president Alex Morrison has died aged 79. Morrison founded the family business in 1948, building it up on the back of school and light industry construction work. In 1976 he went into semi retirement, handing control of the business to his son Frasier, the current chairman.

Michael Graham (M) is Railtrack Scotland's new head of projects. He was previously technical director at consultant Allott & Lomax.

Gibb transport planning has appointed Chris Robertson as a business consultant. Robertson joins from North West Trains.

Kvaerner Construction has appointed Jon Dale as vice president of its general contracting division. Dale was previously director of tunnelling and special projects at Balfour Beatty.
