Chris Fay (F), former chairman and chief executive of Shell UK, has been appointed chairman of the Government's Advisory Committee on Business and the Environment.

Edward Evans (F), specialist in water engineering at Halcrow, has been appointed Honorary Professor in the Department of Civil Engineering at the University of Glasgow.

Bob Bellm (M) is divisional director at Aspen Burrow Crocker but will continue to act as regional manager, Midlands North.

Paul Busby (AM) is project co-ordinator at Nottingham-based building and civil engineering contractor North Midland Construction.

Keith Clarke, chief executive of Kvaerner Contruction, has been appointed by the Department of Trade and Industry to head its new Foresight research panel on the built environment. The construction panel will be developed in association with the Construction Industry Board and led by Tim Broyd (M), a director at WS Atkins.
